Our Family Farm
Values Based Farming
Our values guide all decisions at Wallace Gap Farm. Those values are:
-
Customer satisfaction – be focused on your customers
-
Work ethic – work hard and pay attention to the details
-
Integrity – always do the next right thing
-
Respect the livestock & land – we are stewards
-
Honor our veterans -- freedom comes at a cost

We live by these values. We will only produce the highest quality beef and continuously look for ways to improve the product and process. Raising & selling cows takes work and we view this as a passion, not a chore. Details matter to us. Integrity is embedded in our character; there’s a right way and wrong way to do things. We chose the right way. We are stewards of the land and cattle and it's our responsibility to care for them. Finally, our veterans have paid a price for our freedom. For 14 years, we have hosted wounded Army veterans for an annual deer hunt weekend.

Jean Jarrell oversees special projects at Wallace Gap Farm. Scott & Barbara's children are actively involved with the farm. Todd Lovelace assists with farm and cattle production. Teri Lovelace leads the sales and marketing efforts.
Our pastures
Fresh Clover & Fescue Grass
The “girls” have over 240 acres of rolling, lush pastures to leisurely graze. A rotational grazing plan is being followed to protect our natural grasses. Our cool-season perennial pastures offer forages of abundant clover and fescue grass high in nutrients. The fields have ample supply of clean, cool water from several wells in the fields. Conservatioin is important to us and working with the Soils & Conservation Department, we have protected the Rapidan River and streams from pollutants.. We grow and bail our own hay to ensure high quality and nutrient dense feed for our cattle. We own two registered Black Angus bulls for breeding and 4 lovable donkeys to protect the herd, particularly during calving.
