CATTLE

Wallace-Gap-Farm-6x.JPG
ALL NATURAL, PASTURE-RAISED BEEF

Raising all-natural Black Angus cattle is fundamental to the success of Wallace Gap Farm. Customers can trust that the beef is pasture-raised, all-natural, and free from artificial additives or hormones. The farm’s commitment to humane care and sustainable practices ensures that every cut of meat is flavorful and raised with respect for the animals and the land.

GREEN PASTURES

The "girls" graze on 240 acres of lush, rolling pastures, with a rotational grazing plan to preserve natural grasses. Cool-season perennial pastures provide nutrient-rich clover and fescue, and the fields are watered from multiple wells. Committed to conservation, Wallace Gap Farm works with the Soils & Conservation Department to protect the Rapidan River and nearby streams. The farm also grows its own hay for the herd. Three registered Black Angus bulls handle breeding, and four donkeys protect the cattle, especially during calving season.

NO HORMONES,
NO ANTIBIOTICS

The farm prioritizes its cattle's health by raising them without hormones or antibiotics. They mature naturally, following strict feeding practices for optimal care. Born and raised on the farm, the cattle stay with their mothers until maturity, living a stress-free, humane life. Their feed contains no growth hormones or additives, with only essential vaccinations given to ensure herd health.

GRASS-FED,
GRAIN FINISHED.

These cows are healthy, happy, and live a low-stress lifestyle. They are grass-fed, never confined to feedlots, and are grain-finished with high-quality grain and corn feed. The result is beautifully marbled beef, with thin, evenly distributed fat that ensures exceptional tenderness and juicy flavor. Wallace Gap Farm takes pride in producing tender, flavorful beef with the perfect balance of marbling.
